Painting Conservation

Chantal Bernicky is a professionally trained paintings conservator providing a full range of restoration and preservation services including:  examination, cleaning, tear repair, filling losses and inpainting and technical examination on varied types of painted objects.

From superficial cleaning, to full canvas lining and flattening, Chantal is skilled with watercolors and pastels, paintings on stretched canvas, paintings on panel, painted textiles and wall painting.

Chantal provides expertise in varied paint types such as watercolor, oil and acrylic, as well as pigments and current paint technology.

Chantal has worked on many large scale projects such as the recreation of a monumental Sol LeWitt wall painting at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the restoration of the painted ceilings and walls of the McCook mansion chapel and main bedroom, both projects in Pittsburgh, Pa.
